In the dark of night

A family gathers around a bed

They pray in silence over the bed

And ask for more time

The child dies

The families weep

People cry

The funeral is dark, cold and rainy

The air is heavy with sadness

The people remember the day

As life goes on in the world

Don't Forget

By Jonathan Diaz

Grade 7

I am glad that I am not one of those

Lonely memories that the

Brain refuses to remember

I am glad that I am not one of those

Atrocious memories you

Refuse to think about

How cool I am not a thought that could not be

Written down in time to get an A+

I am nothing but a thought; let me tell you

"Before I forget that"

I am a thought that could make you a famous writer

I am a thought that could determine life and death

I am a thought forever lost in your mind

Seems that you have forgotten me

Until your death I will be

Waiting Waiting

To be remembered

In the darkness of your mind

I am waiting waiting to be remembered
