The Volcano

By Julia Bishop

Grade 7

I am glad I am not the last person in line

Crossing over the finish line

I am glad I am not a piece of candy

Barely getting a life

Before saying goodbye

I am glad I am not a pair of sneakers

Worn out

Tired

Ripped

Thrown Away

Replaced

I am that person everyone replaces

I am capable of completing anything I put my mind to

I am a bubble floating through this big world

Observing

Watching

Waiting

For someone to pop me

I am a clock wondering when I will stop ticking

I am a volcano exploding with energy

Spreading my lava everywhere

Helping and hurting

But trying not to hurt
