Who Am I to You?

By Victoria Hallowell

Grade 7

Who am I to you?

The only orange crayon in a box of white

Sitting in the corner

All alone

In a different color

A delicate butterfly

Shying away from harsh words

Human contact

Wrongful conflict

A clumsy elephant

Stumbling in awkward feet

Trouble remembering things

Asking questions

The king of the jungle

Show off

The top dog

A glimpse of royalty

The fly that won't quit buzzing

Never quieting

Twittering and buzzing

Who am I to me?

A cherry tree

Always thinking

Rarely swaying in decisions

Pondering for eternity

A bumblebee

Patterns of flora

Blooming on the page

A resulting maze of petals and foliage

A sapling

Swaying wildly

Asks for assistance

Stumbling over the easiest things

A dragon

Proud and strong

Not always modest

Showing off gleaming scales

I am a squirrel

Organized chaos

Mildly bothersome

Scurrying about

I am me and only me
