Me?

Grace Birch

Grade 7

I am the sunset that brings  night

I am the dawn that brings morning

In me there is never an always

I come and go as a raging tide

Never will I be those boring ones

Never will I be those predictable ones

For in me there is always a change

A change that you can see is always brewing in me

Think that I am no different?

Well wait a day and you will see

Dancing in the moonlight as free as I can be

Huddled up under covers as trapped as I can be

Not like the others that's who I am

Different however always the same

Looking in the sky I am ready to fly

Fly, fly, fly high into the setting sun

I'm not afraid to burn

I'm not afraid to fall

When others try to break me I stand up tall

Am I different, am I the same?

For in my heart do I really know?

I am running through the grass

When I run it grabs my feet

It tangles and I am afraid

No I am not afraid I am ready to fight

To fight for what I believe in

Will I back down?

Never

Am I the same? Yes

Am I different? Yes

Am I a fighter? Yes

Am I free? Yes

Am I me? Yes
